ScenePD Statewide License Now Available
November 5, 2021
BATON ROUGE - The Center for Analytics & Research in Transportation Safety (CARTS) has upgraded the ScenePD Pro License to a State Site License with Trancite Logic Systems.
This upgrade now covers all official and certified law enforcement agencies in Louisiana for diagramming usage. One benefit to this upgrade is that third party vendors may now utilize the ScenePD Pro license for their crash reporting applications used by the aforementioned Louisiana law enforcement agencies to investigate crashes.
The upgraded license is offered to help ensure that crash diagrams are generated by local law enforcement agencies as part of the crash report, and that those diagrams have a consistent format when submitted to the statewide crash database. The crash diagram is a critical part of the crash report. CARTS uses this diagram data quality purposes, and LA DOTD uses them for safety and engineering programs. For this reason, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) will provide the cost of the upgrade, as well as future statewide maintenance costs.
The state currently utilizes version 7.6.1.52922 of Scene PD Pro. Agencies using ScenePD Pro should ensure that they do not use any version above this. As the state integrates newer versions of ScenePD Pro, agencies and vendors will be notified of that process.
To learn more about this service, please contact Cory Hutchinson with CARTS. To acquire a license for ScenePD Pro or for information about implementing ScenePD Pro, please contact Aaron Baumert from Trancite Logic Systems.
About CARTS
The Center for Analytics & Research in Transportation Safety (CARTS) is responsible for collecting, maintaining, integrating, analyzing and distributing crash-related data captured from law enforcement and other agencies throughout the State of Louisiana. CARTS utilizes this data to develop business intelligence (BI) and GIS tools, perform research studies and produce an annual factbook. These tools and publications are used by decision-makers to identify potential problem areas, create countermeasures, set policies, and establish programs to improve the safety of our roadways in Louisiana. CARTS is a center within the E. J. Ourso College of Business at LSU.
