LADOTDPolicy

  1. Safety data will only be used for the purposes of improving safety and neither you nor your agency will distribute or sell the data pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statute 32:398.
  2. No personal identifying information or individual crash identifiers (crash locations, crash report numbers, names, VINs, crash dates, etc.) will be used in work products.
  3. DOTD makes no representation as to the accuracy, adequacy, reliability, availability or completeness of the Law Enforcement Agency crash reports or the data collected from them. DOTD is not responsible for any errors or omissions in such reports or data. DOTD is not liable for any loss or damage incurred by any party as a result of the use of the crash reports or data collected from them.
  4. DOTD requires the team uses the 23 USC 407 disclaimer in all work products where crash data is used or referenced.
  5. DOTD requires work products include aggregate summary level data as much as possible.
  6. The official report of the circumstances of a particular crash is not owned or distributed by DOTD. The crash report and data contained within it is owned and maintained by the investigating agency. To obtain an official copy of a crash report, contact the state or local law enforcement agency that created it.
  7. If any work products prepared by the team include safety data, we request that DOTD have the opportunity to review the work products.
  8. Safety data use must comply with Louisiana’s Artificial Intelligence Acceptable Use Policy for confidential, proprietary and restricted state data.

Usage Notice

Please note that data access is reserved for local and state roadway owners and their direct consultants for the purpose of identifying, evaluating and planning safety improvements on public roads.

For other uses, limited data may be provided for specific applications.
